Course Title Understanding Civil Protection
Module 1 Duration 2 day Course Aim This module is designed to: 1. Introduce participants to the underpinning principles of civil protection. 2. Develop the participants’ comprehension of the current civil protection arrangements within the U.K. 3. Develop the participants’ ability to respond to emergencies using an integrated emergency management model. 4. To support personal and professional development. Learning Outcomes By the end of the course delegates will be able to: 1(i). Accurately outline the stages of the Integrated Emergency Management model. 1.(ii) Identify and explain the principles of scene management at the scene of an emergency. 1 (iii) ) Identify and discuss the key aspects of recovery. 2(i) Identify and evaluate the role of their organisation and others during the response phase of an emergency. 2(ii) Evaluate a case study of a real emergency and reflect on the lessons learned. 3(i) Assess, using a variety of information sources, the impact the Civil Contingencies Act (2004) may have on their organisation 4(i ) Reflect on key personal development points from the course.
